Trakka Recognised for Business Excellence Trakka has scooped the pool at the Camping & Caravan Industry Association (CCIA) & Motorhome Industry Association (MHIA) Gala Awards night, collecting three firsts in the industry associations' 2003 Excellence Awards. With a history that spans 30 years of high quality manufacturing, Trakka received the awards for "Retailer/Manufacturer of the Year", "Most Innovative Product of the Year" for the Trakka Torino and "Business most committed to Training". The awards, judged by an independent panel on behalf of the CCIA & MHIA resulted from an extensive evaluation of each contender. This was further supported by the experiences gained from "mystery shoppers" that visited each business under the guise of being a prospective customer. "Trakka was outstanding in all areas but particularly so in how they treated their customers," said Sylvia Franklin, Commercial Manager of the CCIA. "Our mystery shopper rated their visit to Trakka as an outstanding indication of the care and interest the company takes in its customer base, many of whom come back to upgrade their vehicles in later years," she added. The award winning Trakka Torino is based on the Fiat Ducato and offers outstanding value for its internal design and spaciousness. Including luxury items such as a shower and toilet compartment, full-sized kitchen and double bed plus superior headroom, the Torino is anticipated to interest a wide customer base. The Trakka Torino fits into the centre of an expansive range that starts with elevating roof models based on the Mercedes-Benz MB 100 and Volkswagen Transporter and continues through to the larger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen LT. Other new exciting models are also in the pipeline for release in 2004. Much of the success of the Trakka products comes from the extensive training programmes run by the company for its staff. "We have initiated apprentice training schemes linked to the local TAFE institute for all aspects of motorhome construction contained in the Recreational Vehicles Manufacturers Training Course," said Martin Poate, Trakka's General Manager. "These courses are invaluable in providing training in all aspects such as bodywork, cabinet making, electrical and plumbing requirements," he added. Australians are trending towards purpose-built motorhomes from the traditional holiday of towing a caravan and Trakka has been instrumental in creating designs that have full compliance with Australian Design Rules. "With a company motto of "Excellence and Expertise", Trakka has established itself as the leading innovator in the industry," said Martin Poate. "The acknowledgement of our high manufacturing standards and quality of construction has been a fantastic credit to our workforce and to the continuing support of our customers," he added. TRAKKA offers an extensive range of recreational vehicles, starting with the Mercedes-Benz Kingfisher Camper at under $50,000.
